How to emphasize this sentence? #1 (permalink) Thu Jan 26, 2012 10:37 am   How to emphasize this sentence?

Hello everyone,
I know every sentence can be emphasized its meaning, as in
I did my homework last night. -> I did do my homework last night.

But I don't know how to emphasize that 'Reading at night is my hobby'
Can I say that:
Reading at night, it is my hobby.

Thanks.

How about "reading at night, that is my hobby." ?

'it' can often be emphasised by using 'that'

[quote="Anhminh1232002"]Hello everyone,

I think that the only way to emphasize the verb "is" in speech is to stress its pronunciation: Reading at night is my hobby.

In writing, you could underline it: Reading at night is my hobby.
