Congratulations, B3l1,
I wish you every success in your studies should you choose to accept this offer.
Some notes on the grammar of your message: I have received a great opportunity. I have had an offer to be an exchange student. In America, in New York. (no article) one of the best in America. (no article) kind of, not kinda. and the rest of the things that come with it.
A better word choice than 'significance' would be 'assistance'. ('Significance' doesn't fit there.) _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

Hello everyone, I received a great opportunity, I am offered to be an exchanged student in the America, New York. College is called Baruch, and it is very known college for Economic sciences, one of the best in the entire America.
I am pretty sure I won't miss this opportunity, but still I am feeling kinda uncertain, will I be able to handle ''American'' life, studying in the English language and the rest things that comes with it.
If there is anyone who live in New York, or even who is attending this college few tips would be of great significance.. |
Hi B3l1,
congratulations on this fantastic opportunity!
I didn't go to college in NY, but I spent about a year there and let me tell you, I was very happy. Life is certainly different, but that's always the case, no matter where you go. NYC has so much to offer. Wonderful sights, great food and lots and lots of entertainment, so be sure not to forget to study!. ;-) Once you are in America, you will learn the language much more quickly and efficiently, so don't worry about that. You'll pick it up without even noticing. Most people are patient, and once they see that you are trying to learn their language and giving your best, they are impressed and happy to help you. That's my experience, at least.
Be happy and look forward to your great voyage! Different is good.

Thanks for the good wishes.
@Beeesneees thanks for correcting my text, as you can see it's still long way to go in my learning English process, but I am satisfied, yesterday I opened my english-test profile in order to find my very first messages, I was terrified, shamed, and actually happy when I saw how bad I was. :D But still, long way to go as I said.. :(
@CqK There are several reasons I am happy to study there. First of all traveling ( exploring the best city in the entire world, meeting completely new people, and embracing the new culture ), than expanding my knowledge ( within several areas: Economy,History|Geography, English ) and third expanding my imagination, overall knowledge.
I utterly believe I'll benefit the upcoming experience. Considering I have never been in the country where English is main language, I am satisfied, but as you can notice it is still not that good, and I hope I'll be able to follow American life. I don't doubt they are helpful, but all I have to say is that this is going to be one good adventure. Different is good ;). Thanks |
