That's an interesting expression, Fang Fang! Do people normally say that in China as a general greeting or for certain occasions only? Is offering tea to visitors a tradition in your country as is the age-old custom of serving coffee in the Arab world?

Maybe that's where this lovely phrase comes from?

Hi,Conchita:
Thanks for your messages, :)
You are quite right.Tea has a long long story in chinese history. It is recorded that 3,000 years ago people in Bashu region (Si Cuan province in China now) did the planting and picked it up。Later cultivation of tea sprung up everywhere, but generally Yu Nan Province is regarded as the productive center。It is located in the southwest。Temperatures and natrual conditions there facilitate large acres of tilth。
In early times tea is used for medical treatments, because of its popularity people find it more useful ,even eat it as food。But nowadays,we drink it only for enjoyment . Tea cultures mean a lot ,you can’t just think it common ,to a point, making tea is art!! It is complicated but elegant ,different from making coffee, many procedures are involved .Tea-makers find happiness in this interesting work, when there are coming new friends and visitors the host (hostess) servers them with best tea, which indicates wishes and high respects to guests。This custom has been kept very well since Han Dynasty, now ,chinese still enjoy it 。
Tea has become one part of our daily life。Virtually,i think there must be something more inside.Clearly, tea is a good drink though it is bitter,What made it fasinating? Now ,young people like CoCa-Cola or Peppsi much than tea,but strangely, many tea-drinkers are those who were soft drink addicts.Partly because of tea’s herbal taste, but, mostly its culture essence  Someone says”Drink tea ,know life“——complex, right? :P
So,”Have your tea here“——from FangFang  :P

I go to work-shop (kitchens) and I take all dimension and distance & height the pipes and electric (every thing in kitchen) after that I come back to our company and I am drawing the kitchen as plan and I put some ideas to it.
Sometime, I stand with our clients and I am explaining about our goods.
Difficult thing in my job is develop the beautiful idea.
I'll send to you some photos for my work and our goods.
Oh yes I have been written about my work in forum what do you want to talk about? You can see it.
Dear fangfang I want to explain about girlfriend.
In my country anybody has friends (boys or girls) such as me I have a lot of friends in our company the most employees in division architectural they are girls and they are my friends and I always talk to them and we are romp together. Also I know a lot of girl in my collage and they are very friendly.
But in my society girlfriend it means lover so our lovers is just our wife.
Opss I forget … the proverb today is:
Ask one who has experience rather than a physician
Experience without learning is better than learning without experience
Have been you known? Pamla put her photo in this web and maybe you can put your photo as Pamla. :D

Hello, I am FangFang from China #64 (permalink) Sun Jun 25, 2006 4:48 am   Hello, I am FangFang from China

Morning,Dark
Many thanks for your nice pictures,i downloaded all and chose one as my wallpicture____The Gallery! 8) (i have a small question___why do you place those cupboards in that way,you may be hurt by their edges?)anyway,i will consider your suggestion, hihihihihi :)
Now it is Sunday morning here, hot again  I have some materials to arrange, hope today i can do something .
" Experience without learning is better than learning without experience "____I like it!
After i got my accounting bachelor degree,i worked in a joint-venture as an accountant, dealing with figures and reports daily.Though i knew how to keep accounts ,record in books i found there are much i 've never known. In a sense, personally,i think accounting should be more useful .Because many people think it just a recording job,no interest. What's more, most of time you can't depend much on books____what you 've learnt can't be used completedly. At that time i thought i should broaden my mind ,then,i decided to attend our national graduate entrance examination .Now,i am back in University again, following my professor who guides me in International Finance Management Study.Compared with working days Study is more tough, because i hope i could be better than myself two years ago.I have another year left ,in the final study period i will present my master paper (Study Japanese or German included)_______Life leading ways!
You are right!Sometimes you can't benefit from knowledges learnt in university, experiences help you a lot.I find my shortages and learn from them.Who doesn' t follow that ?
Now i am about to do some cleaning and reading later,Happy Sunday!

Ni Hao Ma(how r you?)Dark :
Thanks! Now it is a shiny afternoon, birds singing outside.I just wake up from four hours of noon "Nap" :D :D :D Because i stayed up yesterday night for a final english test _____as i said,at least, that is the end so far,i needn't attend any english tests in the following years (except for a doctoral degree or go abroad ).Interestingly, when i read that test in the morning i found some points impressed me much:It is an article about attitudes to exams and reasons why we have exams. One point is a positive attitude to exam .I know it is a common feeling that everyone may not give much notice !In fact, what i think of it is that it is also practical for other aspects:life.right?I know you may not face problems ,in my eyes you are rather "Happy " and "crazy"   :P
Dark,i have a small question___how do you observe New Year Day ?when i did listening test today i got a general understanding about it,different people have different ways to celebrate New Year Day.we can date back to ancient egyptians who celebrated it .You know ?we chinese don't enjoy it so much, maybe because it is ONLY one day for rests. There are three important holidays here,First is our Spring Festival ,the other two are Labour Day (May 1st _7th)and The National Holiday(Oct 1st_7th)
we will be free in seven days then. But i prefer Spring Festival,it is like The Christmas for westerners.
According to chinese calendar caculation,Spring Festival means a new beginning in Spring Season. It is a bit later than New Year Day(Jan 1st) ,almostly in Feb .People will make delicious meals ,rest, visit friends and play fireworks etc.Someone says we play fireworks only for scaring demons and monsters away, mmmm, something of superstition instead of custom, because "long long ago, there lived a monster ,his name was Nian(year in english),how evil he was !people thought of an idea to drive him away——so at the end of year when Nian appeared again, people played fireworks all day and night,Nian never expected that 。He didn‘t know fireworks ,thought people must have found something more powerful ,which made Nian frightened 。He can't hide himself everywhere and flee away quickly.People lived a peaceful life after that ,thus,Fireworks became a necessity on holiday and was kept as an important tradition !
Of couse, nowadays people celebrate holidays by playing fireworks mainly for much enjoyment ,but because of safety as long as you are careful enough you won't fire other things !
I still miss those young days with much happiness....... :P

Salaam,Herc:
I'd like to give my viewpoints about your "Baby Theory" here :D
I am told by doctors that baby cries because it must expand lungs for more oxygen ,or it will die!mmm,do you think baby knows everything ,its fate ??? :D :D :D
Ok,seriously,in my viewpoints life is a form of travelogue, when you come to the world you are on the road.See everything happening around, feel your feelings, listen to different sounds nearby or far away......you may cry for losing best presents, you may become happy to know new things ,you will discover more novelties that make you cheerful or down......but all will go with the wind except for your minds and spirits. When we grow old we may ask ourselves :are you a good person ?what have you done all the life? Will you regret for something or somebody?......So much to answer ,so much to do  Your energy is limited ,You can't do everything, but at least you will do one thing successfully____that is,Live the Life ! :D 8)
Don't think you COULD be someone! In Fang's saying there is one"expect much ,get much disappoitments" 8) :D :D  Make good preparations for your new travelogue you will reach the final destination!Keep a mild mind .

Hi fangfang :o

What about your exam, it was ok?
I sure you can do it .that right I don't worry on you.
About your song I can't download but I still try, maybe I'll go to internet caf? and download it. I think it very nice
You are lucky girl you have two months are vacation, that very nice so you can do what do you want in your vacation but when you will go to life work you haven't more time to do what you like.
Now let me tell you about some our holidays: I think we have a lot of Holidays because my country has a lot of human races like Arab & Kurds & Turkmen …etc
And we have three main religions (Islam – messianic- Judaic) and it all heaven-born from our Allah.
In my country we make gala just in Islamic & messianic holidays and home-bred
I'll try remembering holiday now: Fater Holidays Adha Holidays hijri new year and Christmas…etc.
We do in all our holidays visit our family and friends and eat sweet food and we wear new clothes and our babies go to parks and cabarets and it very happy to our children.
I wait listen good news about your exam.
I wish to you happy vacation.

Hiiiiiiiiiiii,Dark: :)
Haven't been here for a while. My vacation is coming, though it is i have lots of things to do.Thanks for your words  How about you these days?
You know? These days an arabic art delegation is visiting Nanjing ,"TheArabianNights "is shown by a Syriac Art Delegation(i don't know how to render their name )Very interesting......"Everything is nice, nice people smiling all the time"they said when chinese reporters interviewed the arabic artists.
These years China holds many cultural programmes ,for instance,Last year was Chinese-French Cultural Year, this year is Chinese-Russian Cultural Year ,Maybe we will hold Arab Cultural Year soon  Then it is a big time for both to have good cooperations in many aspects, like education, languages communication, study abroad ,arts and so on.I don't know how many chinese students go to Syria for languages ,but there are many arabic students here ,all the time i think it is very hard to learn Chinese ,but they can speak it pretty good!Admire them! :)
About Arabic ,in Xinjiang Province people speak chinese ,but they still keep their own language. It is very similar to your language,Xinjiang people look like very different from Han people (Han is the biggest people in China!),i think their ancestry came from the West Asia people, maybe they were arabians too. With time passing by their customs are changed much, languages included.I wonder if you can read some .just like we chinese can read and understand some Japanese, because in ancient China, chinese was introduced to Japan and Korea, many centuries passed ,Japanese has their own language ,but chinese is still kept ,amazing! You really can't understand how they formed ,just like when i read the english version of Al-Quran ,i find there are many vague words that i can't figure out,i can't look them up in dictionary ,maybe they are some "old" words which never are used nowadays, languages have been changed a lot,but when i read them i still enjoy it_____Don't think i am a pedant, just like reading all interesting things.Well, now i go ,talk to you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
