Hi,

There are many examples. I will refer to a couple only.

He could have swum the channel if he had practised more. This is a conditional sentence and indicates that he would have been able to swim. Hw would swim every day if he had the time. This is another conditional and suggests that it would be possible for him to swim every day but there wasn't enough time.

You can increase your vocabulary only if you are ready to change your habits. Most people look for a short cut to improving their English but there is none. If you want to increase your vocabulary you need to increase your exposure to English. This means, you need to listen to as much authentic English as possible. Watch CNN and BBC instead of your local news channels, listen to US and UK radio stations, watch movies in English, etc.

Hi Partthii,

There is no such word as 'alot' in standard English. You need to write 'a lot'.
