The reading passages presents[present] a positive overview about the consequences of the so-called eco-tourism. The professor, however, disputes all these arguments.
To begin with, the professor points out that eco-tourism damages the environment, since the constructions[construction] of roads are[is] needed. In addition to that, it causes an increase of[in] air and water pollution. This casts doubt on the point in{"made by" sounds better} the reading passage that eco-tourism can substitute{"substitute for" or better, "replace"} worse forms of development that would create more damages[damage] to the environment.
The professor also claims that even if the government's intentions are to protect and preserve the nature involved in the eco-tourism phenomenon, it does not imply that the people in charge for[of] {"people responsible for that" sounds better} that do their work in a good {"proper" sounds better here} manner. For example, they could be corrupted, so that other people can[would] exploit this with illegal actions, such as cutting down trees, stealing or illegal hunting. This would seem to contrast the argument in the reading passage that eco-tourism necessarily brings{"improves" would be better here} the conservation and preservation of the surrounding environment.
The reading passage also asserted that all parties benefit from eco-turism, from tourists to local people, as well as plants and animals. The professor disputes this point as well, asserting that the increase of pollution harms the latters[latter], while the creation of new job places[opportunities] would attract people from closer areas.{I don't understand, wouldn't this help the local people?} This, in combination with the arrival of tourists from all over the world, would cause a significant change in the customs of local people, and the professor underlines this fact as a negative effect.
