It seems that my english is improving day by day.

Let me know if I use correct present continous in the above phrase. I am not very sure if "day by day" request only present simple or even present continous could be used.

Your sentence would be correct if you had capitalised the word English'.

Ok, it is a rule of punctuation. The names of languages are always written with a capital letter.

I dont understand very well. Could "day by day" be used even with present simpe?

Yes, "day by day" can be used as simple present tense.
day by day = a little at a time and gradually.
