Friendship is an issue that generates heated debates in today’s society as many people believe that true friends are rare. But true friends don’t have to be similar to us,we can still be on good friends even if we have different personalities and moral codes. On the one hand, many people claim that in order to be on good terms with somebody, one must share the same values and the same personality traits. Thus, youngsters tend to find a favourite friend that likes the same clothes mark as them, enjoys a particular subject and has got the same pet.Similarity is the key feature that describes them as individuals because they try to eliminate the differences between them. This type of frienship is called “flock” friendship due to the fact that the individuals feel they are part of one group. On the other hand, a great deal of people want to have a friend who is different to them, who complets them and this because they feel this adds spice to their relationship. They suggest that by doing so,their lives are not dull and they enjoy a lot their time togheter. For instance, if a Chinese came to your school, the teens who want a different friend would try to be near him/her as they perceive the difference between cultures, manners of life and apperance and want to be in the centre of attention. The ones who can identify with this category are people who want to break the traditional barriers which can occur sometimes and help the newcomer integrate better in their society. Also, they will benefit a lot by learning a lot of interesting things from their new friend and have a pleasurable time together. On the whole, as far as I’m concerned, I think I’d prefer a friend who is different to me, as each human being is different and thus, I have the opportunity to explore the differences between us and learn from them .I am inclined to believe that the differences will make us stronger and highlight our true friendship.

Hi, I think your writing is excellent. Make sure to put two spaces (some people use one space: http://www.slate.com/articles/technology/technology/2011/01/space_invaders.html ) after each period. Also you had a few misspelled words, but besides that your essay was fantastic. One note though - make sure to include the essay prompt with your essay. I could not tell if this was supposed to be an argumentative essay where you have to choose one side or a compare and contrast essay, where you present both sides of the argument. You wrote a compare and contrast essay, but if the prompt was for an argumentative essay, you would have been marked down.

thank you very much for reading it.:) Here's the task:
Some people choose friends who are different from themselves.Others choose friends who are similar to themselves.Which kind of friend do you prefer and why?Compare the advantages of having friends who are similar to you to the advantages of friends who are different from you. |

| What a nice essay Claudia. However, I noticed some mistakes about spacing after punctuation marks. Nevertheless, you really did a great job. ;) |
