Are these both correct:
1-It is better to eat whole fruit instead of drinking fruit juice.
2-It is better to eat whole fruits instead of drinking fruit juice.

In "1" is "fruit" a plural noun or an uncountable noun?

Sentence 1 is correct.

The only reason for using the countable plural 'fruits' is when comparing different types of fruit.
