I think you mean '...that the mind performs, not '...than the mind performs'.
If you make that change, then both versions are correct, though personally I prefer the first option.
You don't necessarily need the commas around 'unconscious' in the first sentence, but I think they serve to emphasise the nature of the function you wish to speak about and the fact that it is significantly different from those previously mentioned. _________________ Cheers m' dears! |

I am sorry about the typo.
I think if we take away the commas and have:
Now I want to talk about another unconscious function of the mind.
we will be implying that the other functions were also unconscious. Am I mistaken here? |
