Are these sentences natural? Feb 15 #1 (permalink) Wed Feb 15, 2012 19:24 pm   Are these sentences natural? Feb 15

Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

1. I want to thank everyone for giving me points and make me win.

2. While this may not seem like a terrible idea on the first blush…

3. How is this going to work? (I wanted to know how a new plan was going to work)

Thanks,
MG.

1. "... giving me points and making me win".

2. The expression I am familiar with is "at first blush". Some people do seem to use "on the first blush", but it is very much rarer, as you can see at http://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=on+the+first+blush%2C+at+first+blush&year_start=1800&year_end=2000&corpus=0&smoothing=3

3. OK.
