Hi Tom

In the US, a "baby boomer" is often defined as a member of the "baby boom" generation of the 1950s. In other words, in the 1950s there was an explosion in the birthrate. Often the definition is expanded and includes people born at the end of the 1940s through the beginning of the 1960s.
