Hi Ashley
Normally you would not use the word "the" with the word "fate". (singular)
Normally the word "fate" is singular, but it can also be used as a plural sometimes, and then you need the word "the" (as you wrote).
What I might say: Let fate decide (for you). You can't fight fate.

Though this is many years post question, the use of fate or Fates is tricky. When using fate as a plural object, it is actually a proper noun (the Fates of mythology). Therefore, your use with 'the' requires plurality and capitalization to reflect this case.
In the secondary cases, beginning with "No one", the first would require dropping 'the' while the second only requires capitalization of the proper noun. The best choice would be dependent on your premise (or preceding sentence) which would likely dictate either "Let the Fates decide [sic]" or "No one can fight the Fates". |
