Which part of the sentence below is grammatically incorrect?

“When they saw that there dog had been eaten by the mad cow, they were more than a little upset.”
Choose one answer.
a. … dog had been eaten by …
b. … the mad cow, they …
c. … were more than a little upset.
d. When they saw that there …

I think the answer is d. because the spelling of "there" is supposed to be "their"? I appreciate your help.
