Is it correct to say "culture inheritation"?

I am trying to say:

"Early immigrants adopted these names in respect to their origin. The names therefore reflect culture inheritation from generation to generation and the spirit of respecting one’s origin."

But in this way, I'd keep saying "respect one's origin". So, is there another way to express this?

Besides, is it correct to say "culture inheritation"?

Hi all potted out,

I believe there is a slight confusion over the words. Inheritance - meaning something often money or property that someone has left you after their death. The other word is heritage - meaning traditions/customs/culture that go from one generation to another in a country ot community. I think the expression you want is cultural heritage

You also ask for another way of saying respect one's origin You could say Remember where you came from/Don't forget your roots.
