Hi,

I need to know the passive voice of these two sentences.

1= I would like you to help me out.
2= He has been reading this book for two hours.

Please help me out

Regards

Hi Najam,

Have a look at some material I've written for the site on the Passive and then try and change your two sentences yourself.

Dear Alan
That was really very informative and interesting, but I did not find the structure there that my sentences have. Still I will make a whach at it
1 You would be appreciated if you helped me out.
I think the second sentence is not possible to turn into passive.

What do you think?

Passive #4 (permalink) Thu May 25, 2006 8:33 am   Passive

Hi Najam,

OK. Let's look at the sentences:

Quote:
1= I would like you to help me out.
2= He has been reading this book for two hours.

You could change (1) by making the infinitive passive: I would like to be helped out

You could give the idea of the continuous form by adding an adverb:
(2) This book has been read continuously by him for two hours
