Thanks, Ralf, for sending this good news. I understood the article rather well. I am not bilingual yet, but, indeed, you have encouraged me to continue learning English:)

The thing is that after school I had a gap of more than 20 years and only read some English books from time to time (that was, unfortunately, too rarely). I resume learning English at the age of 42 and it was very difficult to develop different skills (especially speaking ones) but former school experience helped me very much. Now I am much better in English than I was at 42 and I hope it will be growing even better. Who knows, maybe once I will name myself a bilingual... And, which is more important, I hope my students will become bilingual people. Though some of them ARE bilinguals - they know Buryat language. So, if they will know English + Buryat + Russian how am I going to call them? :)

I am a teacher now, English teacher at rural school.
