Is this is a moot point to you?

Hi, I remember a taking part in a conversation between two ESL trainers -- one from the UK and one from the States.

At some point the American said Well, that's moot, isn't it? The British could not quite follow him and asked to clarify. Apparently, the word moot was not part of his active vocabulary.

What about you? How often do you use phrases like that's a moot point or that's completly moot?

"Moot" is an active part of my vocabulary, but I myself probably would not use it without the word "point". That's a moot point.
