Hi,

Go off can often be used to mean explode as in: Several bombs were dropped on the city. One landed near a school but fortunately it didn't go off.

Go wrong has the meaning of not working properly as was intended as in: They thought everything was perfect for the concert but at the very beginning the lights went out because something had gone wrong with the electrical system.
