Hi Englishuser

Why in "behind the curtain"? An odd question. It seems to me that Michael has been quite straightforward here, albeit probably uncomfortably so.

Why not engage him in some other type of conversation? I think you'll find that Michael is quite likable. Just as Tamara is.

Hi Michael

Sorry, for unintentional fanning a fire. Forget.

Just congratulate me: yesterday, in Adult Literacy, Level 2, pre-test, I got 33 out of 40 (the ‘pass mark’ is 26).
That's even better than I expected to get.
So... My (next Smile ) national exam is on 15, July, not in August.

Like to see you,
Tamara

Hi Tamara

Congratulations on your successful test-taking!

Your pun was very good. Being able to "play with" a foreign language is a real sign of achievement, in my opinion.
Just one little correction: You neglected an "-ly" there. Wink

Hi Tamara
you are right ..so I have to tell my opinion to Michael openly and directly ..

You can ask Torsten to be Moderator and I think he will welcome you , and it was a better way than asked Tamara to be Moderater ..!!!! "behind the curtain " !!!
Hey Michael ..you did a mistake !!

by the way, If Torsten accept you as Moderator ..you must know that :

I'll refuse you ,because you need more and more training to be Moderator..and this's my opinion

Best wishes

Hi Amy Smile

Thanks for the congratulation!
I have a great chance to get a strong and stable addiction to the UK national certification tests. Smile Very Happy

Sorry for my unintentionally unfunny fanning a fire.
If it’s better – thanks you a lot!

Hi Tamara

Just a comment on the "-ly" thing Wink

It would be better to use the adjective if you say "fanning of a fire" or "fire-fanning". Laughing

Hi Pamela and thank you.
Unfortunately it was only pre-testing, and only real test will appear my actual literacy level.

About "quarrels" – it’s not a quarrel. Just face-to face meeting, a part of people’ communication.
Great and useful experience (as I consider), even though – unpleasant, of course.

I generally think, that in addition to learning English, this Forum gives an excellent opportunity to get experience to resolve difficult and clumsy situations – in a group.
And using English Smile

Also, as now we know each other better, this is might be a way to become true friends. That’s great.

Like to see you Smile

Amy, I’m terribly sorry for my today’ (or, maybe, innate Smile ) dullness, but I need a bit more clarification for the case.

- unintentional fanning (adjective) – I used it initially

- unintentionally unfunny (adverb related to adjective. The change I had made - intentionally to use [-ly]. Smile )

What’s wrong? (… and where Smile )

…By the way, I permanently suffer from my lack of skill to distinguish clearly, what the main function of a gerund in a particular situation is.
And how to treat it - as a thing (noun) or as 'acting', a process. As in the above case with my own use of 'fanning'…

Hi Herc and a big thank to you Smile

…To be honest, I have no intention to become "the best" Wink
Moreover, I often feel pity to people obsessed by this feverish striving.
One of my close and old friend is now infected it and, to my deep regret, got involved to
the rat race (do you know the meaning of the term?).
He used to be a cheerful guy, but now he knows no rest… Sad

Anyway, thanks for your warm wishes. I like it Smile
See you,
Tamara

Enjoying your success Thu Jul 06, 2006 18:08 pm  Enjoying your success

Hi all! Hi Tamara in particular here!

I enjoy your success! I think, I was sure that you made it. Well done. Cool I also hope that you?re not longer afraid of your next exam, as your skills in English (formal and informal) are more than most of us others do have.

Tamara, your introduction seems to become a marathon Wink , possibly because I did something silly Sad , that don?t belong here. Yesterday, I thought about writing a topic at the forum "What do you want to talk about" concerning my opinion to Englishuser as moderator. I decided against it because I wanted to see what happens with him. But now, seeing all the confusion I?ve brought up with my silly try to talk to you Embarassed , I think, I must do that. But please, give me a bit time, as I first have to provide my horses.

By the way, I hope you can know spencer now, as I saw that he was using this site and hope to see spencer here.

See you later
