Hi Herc!

Your home thread is not a bit 'less favourite' for me :)
And I feel cosy in the forum when can see that you’re here.

I also very like Fang Fang’s stories and her special light style of writing.

Have a nice day too,
Tamara

Hi, Michael!

You seem to be preparing to become a qualified cryptographer :)

That’s good. In the case your pretty ‘interview girl’ will be in doubt about some words you happen to use :), you can lightheartedly say that it’s very special and newest crypto-code for English :) And provide her with the link :D

Wish you be healthy, wealthy and wise :)
Tamara

Hi Michael
The equivalent English expression is "put your foot in your mouth"

Hi Mba

Do you have any idea how much your English has improved? It's incredible how much better your English is since you first started posting here!

Congratulations, Mr. Dark Magician! :D

By the way, I enjoyed your house description. It sounds lovely!

OK. We will patiently wait looong months more – until you become similar to Tarzan :) and, at last, reveal yourself at forum’s avatar, as promised a month ago. :) ;)

I’ve read what you wrote … it’s not only a description, it’s… a song…
True House for true Warrior of the Light. :)
Thank you! I actually enjoyed reading it!

Hi Amy, I’m really glad to see you posting and smiling.

My brief report.
Today my son has got results of his GCSE exams. Not too bad :)
He’s done Science separate, ICT and Math quite well, making up for his ‘C’ Grade on English Literature. :)

Also, I heard in today’s BBC news (Hi, Michael, I’ve just received your e-mail) that:
(1) Foreign Languages, as a GCSE (secondary school) subject, is getting less and less popular in the UK;
(2) this (studying foreign language(s)) now becomes optional (not compulsory) in the UK school.

Hi Amy!

Stepping into a scale of grease reminds me more to putting one?s foot into somebody else?s mouth  since a formerly Chancellor of the German Union in the 1980?s often was drawn in comics after he had done exactly that ( vividly spoken ).

Amy wrote:

Although it would be a great challenge to one?s sports-skills they would look rather ridiculous, particularly if they have forgotten to clean up the foot before!

Thanks for that idiom 8)

Michael

Hi all! Nice to see your thread on this forum again, Tamara! Your thread presents for me a cosy sitting-room where amiable people gather together and discuss different problems, recollect pleasant moments of their lives. Your thread is a discussion club and that's really great!!! The discussion in your thread contributes to improving English skills as well. I like the atmosphere in your thread and it's really relaxing :D

Hi Mba!

Really? Your brother is/was a Moscow aspirant? How small the world is!
What scientific area he digs out :) to make his contribution?

Wishing him every success anyway,
Tamara

P.S. Thank goodness, Moscow is not in the Arctic Circle, so The sun rises everyday there - without long breaks :) :D

Hi Pamela,

Your posts are pleasant and not a bit boyish. :)
Last summers days, eh? (Лето пролетело...)

Hi FangFang!

I’m glad to welcome here such a friendly forum’s member - who luckily combines fertile imagination and quite good common sense :)

Come whenever you like and take a sit - wherever you like :) And help yourself :) :D

Hmm.
A language forum is a very special community, isn’t it? – where people are united mainly due to (the idea of learning :) ) some language. Thanks to :) English, in our case.

And any language (alive language, not as my unlearnt Latin :)) is like [a? the? -?] water.
I like this rich metaphor, it helps me. That can be seen from my forum’s signature, the phrase that Alan calls my personal mantra.

FangFang… how would you imagine our (language) forum then?

:) ;) :D

See you all,
Tamara
