Whether we knew that Saddam had moved his WMDs off Iraqi soil or not, before the war, cannot be known. If we didn't, then we were just wrong. If we did, then we lied.

As for Abu Ghraib, some of those things were pretty bad and/or embarrassing for a lot of prisoners and soldiers. I can't really substantiate nor refute any claims as I've never been there. Pictures could be staged (like the moon landing. hehe). Who knows except those who are or were there?

As for me, I'll grab a line from one of Abe Lincoln's letters:

It is my personal wish that all men, everywhere, could be free.

What is the best way to be free, that we know of?

In my opinion, the best way to ensure freedom is to employ democracy in the form of a representative republic. That's what we're trying to help the Iraqis do now.

Most Americans hold an attitude of goodwill toward peaceful Iraqis, and hope that the militant ones can relax a bit -- vote, voice their opinions, but stop killing each other -- so that Iraq can move on and reap the benefits of representative leadership/government.

Hi everybody!

Life is still stripy. Smile
I’m here again. Together with my far-from-perfect English (which is getting considerably worse without the ESL forum) ,
that is, however, allows me to say: I love you all, as you are.
and hope to be understood. Smile

Last week I didn’t speak in English at all – not a word – because of my unexpected ‘vacation’. Now I’m back.

It’s December… has anybody already seen any snow this "winter"? )

?

I haven't actually.
And here the weather is (also) still like this:

Pamela, you are really beautiful. I like your pic! It actually brings on an elated mood. Thanks!

Tamara

Welcome back, Tamara!

Hope you get to a pink (or white) stripe soon!

No snow in Madrid so far, except in the mountains (we only got some frost). I must say we've had a really mild autumn this year, at least up to a few days ago.

Wrap up warmly!
