Get more than 550 points in the TOEFL®...

Why is it so difficult to get more than 550 points in the toefl? What I mean is why it is easier to improve the points from 500 to 550, than 550 to 570 for instance.

Have you taken the TOEFL before? I'm just wondering what you base that on. Maybe its just that you have reached a learning plateau? In any subject students often reach a point where they have a certain amount of knowledge, and more study refines it but they do not improve test score. If you continue studying, eventually you pass that plateau and can reach new heights.
