Dear teacher,
I did understand about Abbreciation and Acronym to be exactingly explained by you .
I wish to make some examples of them as for your reading my understanding.
1.Adjective is abbreciated "Adj".
2.Adverb is abbreciated "Adv".
3.Conjuntion is abbreciated "Con".
4.Teacher Training department is acronymed as T.T.D.
5.World Food Program is aconymed as W.F.P.
6.United nation international children emergency fund is acronymed as UNCEF.

Thanks
Savath

Hi, Savath

I think what Torsten said is understandable,

For acronym, such as "NASA", you can read it as a word; while you can only spell and read letter by letter for a abbreviation.

Take your examples, T.T.D and W.F.P. are abbreviations, and UNICEF (not UNCEF) is definitely an acronym.

Dear kistodad,
Last day I sent the sentences on Abbreviation and Acronym .They were some wrong and other right, but after you gave me their specifict definition it makes sense to me .
Now I would like to correct and remake them in according to my understanding from you.
I wrote that WFP is an acronym from World Food Programme,in fact it is wrong ,because it dosn't make a word.Anyway,WFP is an abbreviation from Word Food Programme.
An Acronym is a word to be made from picking up an initial letter of each of words .
An Abbreviation is a short form of a word that also an initial letter to be taken out of each of words but they are not made a word.
Thanks
