"Take into account" means... #2 (permalink) Fri Jun 09, 2006 12:13 pm   "Take into account" means...
 

You have to take travel time into account.
= You have to consider travel time.

We didn't take into account the cost of materials.
= We didn't include the cost of materials in our calculation.

If anything goes wrong, I am accountable.
= I'm the one who suffers, has a problem, has to answer if anything goes wrong.

The law holds parents accountable for their children's crimes.
= If the child commits a crime, his parents will be punished.
