Material about nouns countable and uncountable, verbs, etc #1 (permalink) Sat Jun 10, 2006 20:47 pm   Material about nouns countable and uncountable, verbs, etc

Hi,
Is it possible to make a page with material
about nouns countable and uncountable devided and make it easy to learn with examples
This is for unnative speakers pure the matter of learning by heart, very useful,
second thing for example verbs quite deep subject if somebody will ask me tests are very good but too less complex so much energy and options still unuse ???
third maybe something like well I don't know??
But surely something like a list of checklists about
standards in grammar or typical vocabulary and more tests
diffrent tests grammar tests .
German language has something like Profesor Klaus
grammar tests very complex covering entirely everything
if you done once you may start from beginning and all togeather helps for repetition you may be sure every bit of grammar is tackled and main rule explained in tests
A ...Z if somebody wants to study alone may start and concentrate just on this one program
Here I had got lost because I knew I done somthing but I don't know how much has left to complete if I am in the middle or just at the beginning.
Complex grammar tests for free ,for everybody
liberty and justice, beer for free !!!!
No RP accent no Coconery no Posh
Native speaker should be charged in all pubs double and the saved money should be contributed to ESL students
Tax them tax them no mercy.
Yours Faithfully

Countable vs. uncountable nouns #2 (permalink) Sat Jun 17, 2006 14:40 pm   Countable vs. uncountable nouns

Hi Jan,

Many thanks for your proposal. To be honest, I also had thought of creating a page that covers countable and uncountable nouns. It's probably best if we start a thread related to this topic to collect information and come up with a structure. As I see it, you can divide the English nouns into the following groups:

- nouns that are always countable
- nouns that are always uncountable
- nouns that can be either countable or uncountable depending on their meaning (i.e. 'time' vs. 'times')
- nouns that can be either countable or uncountable depending on the context they are used in (i.e. 'clouds' vs. 'cloud')

Please remind me to continue this project...
Torsten
