Hello everybody

Could you please elaborate the given quote for me, or simplify for that matter? Very Happy

" I do not know who said 'travels broadens the mind', but he should have added ' the broader the mind, the thinner it gets'. Most of the shallowest people I have seen in most places, I have seen through the eyes of a travel folder."

Waiting anxiously for I could understand nothing from it.

Hi Tom

That is unusual. It almost seems to be saying "Beauty is only skin deep" --- in a very roundabout way. Laughing

If you know more then you know how little you know
(or somethin like this).
People who travel alot suppose to be good in writing travel folders
but later when you know a place or its inhabitants then knowledge from a travel folder seems to be a pure belied shallow story.
Travel folders are not to make any boarding of the mind they are for commercial purposes.
I guess I have understood a point and it is nothing wrong with this idea.
Traveling helps to learn ,how much, well depends on a person.
You are in many places but suprise for yourself you know
nothing special ,nothing what was expected to learn by travelling.
I wouldn't be suprised if the sentence would have a different meaning.

Hi Cap'n Jan

I think you interpreted that sentence well. Very Happy
Travel and travel folders are only the surface of a country and usually only an idealized surface. It's shallow. You can't truly get to know and understand a foreign country simply as a tourist.
