The full phrase is 'go white water rafting', in other words, 'go rafting in white water'.

yeah, me too I want to know what is the difference between them??
prepositional Phrases is the most thing i hated about English. why you attach "out" to "try" ? Why don't you just say "try this" instead of "try this out"?:)
sometimes they make me mixed up...thank you anyways

Bring (something) up = introduce (something), as a new topic, into a conversation.
Bring (something) on = begin (something) forcefully for someone else.

Try this = attempt this
Try this out = attempt this thoroughly. 'Out' is an intensifier.

If you hate English, you will make little progress; think of the phrasal verbs as interesting puzzles.
