Hi
I don't think the sentence tells clearly who was in the kitchen. For example:
I heard him calling from the kitchen. (he could be in the kitchen--I could be in the kitchen)
Please shed some light on this one too.

. 'Come' is rather left hanging if the call did not come from the kitchen, Tom-- we don't know where they might 'come to'. Although semantically you are right that either is possible, common sense tells us the caller is in the kitchen and the hearer is elsewhere. . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

| You see, someone is yawning in the kitchen because he/she is tired and maybe wanna sleep (or is feeling bored because we don't help his/her), so we should come to help them. To yawn is to open the mouth wide and inhale, when sleepy or bored. |

But 'yawning' is not the correct answer, precisely because it wouldn't make much sense in the test sentence. |
