I hadn't bothered looking at the example. It seems that it doesn't match their definition.

Hi Bz,

If I know well if in the dictionary is written: 'add sth up' this doesn't mean that I have to put the object direct after put.Look at it: add sth up I say: When I add up everything...It means that if I substitute the object direct with pronouns used as direct or indirect objects I have to put them after put. In this case : When I put them up...
Another example:in the dictionary: actsth out; exp: The children acted out the verse. or The children acted it out.etc.
In practical English Grammar /A.J.Thomson and A.V. Martinet T/ Position of pronoun object of phrasal verbs:pay back the money or pay it back
the sth shows where I have to put the pronoun.

Depending on the sentence, the noun can come in different places (my post from last May was a little misleading, sorry - I didn't mean literally between 'test' and 'out').

To test sth out / to test out sth
