I like the way you call me...just M. It's so mysterious.

I forgot to talk, I'm 28yo and I'm married and I have a beautifull daughter.

Thanks for the reply.

Regarding your question, what do you expect people to call you? Your user name is M_Murdock and you haven't signed your posts with any other first name. And, besides, M so convenient to write... Laughing Wink

Tell us a little more about yourself. Do you need English for your job? What do you do?

Have fun!

English for Job #5 (permalink) Wed Jun 21, 2006 14:30 pm   English for Job

My real name is Daniel.

I need English for my job; I want to reach a high position in my career.
I work in a science company, I don't know if anyone know this company, the name is Dupont, and I’m from the technology department.

It's so difficult to learn English in Brazil because we don't have English at school and
We have to pay to much to learn, but it's so important to talk and understand English.

Hi Daniel!

Nice to meet you! Dupont is well known in the world. As I think you are an engineer, I?d like to hear in which part of technik. Do you develop new materials or are you work-preparer?

I myself am a mechanical technician also learning English and I?m happy that there is another English user which whom I possibly can improve my skills in technical English. I think, if we get more user in technical English it would also be interessting for this site and as Torsten wrote he would also be interessted in more technical English at this site.

Kind Regards

Michael

P.S.: Your English sounds formal but rather good for me.

Hello,Daniel:
In our last financial analysis of Dupont,we put much emphasis on its finance structures in !983.As a famous case ,the merger between Dupont and Conoco produced deep influences on its assect and liability structure......
Dupont is a famous multinational, how do you feel working there?i think there must be much pressure .Sometimes you have to make choices ,for instance,a life with less money but leisure ?or ,a life with wealth but you are under the strain, what do you think of it?

Hi Daniel!

Perfectly right! I myself learn nearly with every post I write or read something, particularly caused by the support of the moderators. They always have a look at our posts. Beside of practicing you also have a wonderful tool here with Alan?s English lessons and the tests that belong to. I liked to recommend you using them.

By the way. I don?t know whether it is a typo in your sentence "I?m not a engineer" but as the first letter of engineer will be pronounced as a vowel the correct undefinite artikel is an engineer!

I hope you agree that I pointed out that.

Correction #10 (permalink) Thu Jun 29, 2006 0:27 am   Correction

Yes, that’s true, there’s a lot of pressure, but I had waited all my life for a chance to work in a multinational, and that is my chance.

I’m not an engineer – Thank you for the correction !
