Hello,

I keep hearing lots of natives on the television pronuncing "sti:ring" instead the pronunciation given in the Oxford dictionary for example (photo attached). Is it also accepted?

Thank you.

Natives of what country/language?
'Stirring' is pronounced as per the dictionary.

The word you're describing is "steering".
What makes you think they meant "stirring"?

Thank you for your answers. I was indeed making a confusion between "steering" and "stirring". Everything is clear now thanks to you.
