1. All despite his life long savings, he cannot make journey to Mecca for want of enough fund.
2. In spite of his wearing a seat belt, he was thrown sharply forward.
Please correct the above.

(Despite saving throughout his life, he does not have enough funds to journey to Mecca.)
2. In spite of wearing a seat belt, he was thrown forward sharply.

How about using the perfective participle and recasting the sentence as 'Despite having saved throughout his life, he does not have enough funds to make a journey to Mecca'?
