Hi Sweetpumpkin. You are partially right, we use "on" for an avenue, street, or road, or other roadway when we do not specify the particular address. With addresses, we use "at", whether it is a street or avenue or any other address.
So "He lives on Sutherland Avenue." "He lives at 243 Sutherland Avenue.
"the" can definitely be used with many, as it is here. Here, "the" means a particular group of pleasures, and many or another adjective can be used in between "the" and "pleasures" - "the quiet pleasures ...", "the numerous pleasures ..." |
