Thought groups question - Nov 20, 2017 #1 (permalink) Mon Nov 20, 2017 18:22 pm   Thought groups question - Nov 20, 2017

Hi,

Am I dividing the following sentences in acceptable thought groups? The slash mark (/) indicates a momentary pause taken by native speakers.

1. Perhaps by then, / customers had gotten used to / thinking of Gillette / as a high-end brand.

2. But while such a pricing plan makes sense, / it can still leave customers confused / as to which deals are the best.

3. The retail price is less / than it costs to manufacture and distribute.

Thanks

Hi, as a native speaker, your first two sound correct, but for sentence 3 I would pause here:

3. The retail price / is less than it costs / to manufacture and distribute.
