Hi Abhishek,
We use the others when we are talking about all the remaining ones in the group or list we have mentioned at the beginning. We could say: Charlie wrote 24 novels. I have read 13 of them but I don't want to read the others (the remaining ones = 11)

Hi ML, no it has to be THE others as we are talking about the remaining known holidays in that year. _________________ Keep it simple ... Keep it interesting. |

Is it right: Is she having tea?
Yes, that sentence is grammatically correct. In Britain, 'tea' is a meal served in the early evening. _________________ "Inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened."

One more thing. Is it a Britain variant? Do you have a sister?i was taught that we use the auxiliary verb do only if have is a part of some word expression, such as, to have tea, for example. Sorry if I've made a great number of punctuation. I am rather bad at it) |

Can we say 'to wash the floor'? If not, please tell me the right expression.
Yes, we can say someone is washing/washes the floor. _________________ "Inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened."

Is it a British variant?
Do you have a sister? is correct in both American and British English.
Do you have a sister? Do you have a brother? Do you have any money? Do you have an apple? Do you have the time? _________________ "Inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened."

If you are talking about the past tense we can say 'Did you have a sister?' _________________ "Inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened."

Sorry, but what about talking about the present tense, should we say 'Do you have a sister?' or 'Have you a sister?' |
