Why is it not the correct answer? I see that a lot of more preferable, but I am with my Russian subconsciousness can`t explain Why? Help me, please!

You can say 'much money' but you cannot correctly say 'much of money'
As the word 'of' appears in the test sentence, then 'much ' cannot be used with it, so cannot be correct.
