ESL/EFL Test #272 "Gerund and Infinitive Practice (11)", answer 4
David allows swearing in his house. My children, on the other, are not allowed to use bad language in our home.
Correct answer: (d) swearing _________________________
David allows swearing in his house. My children, on the other, are not allowed to use bad language in our home.
Here why isn't good the infinitive? I thought he allows them to swear sometimes. Or they are swearing always? See my interpretation in the 3.question. _________________ Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend. |
