. Use much of when the noun is modified or when the object is a pronoun:
I don't want much milk. I don't want much of this milk. I don't want much of it. . _________________ Native English teacher at Mister Micawber's |

Hi Vamsivakas,
much ofyou can find in idioms:/you can find them in dictionary/ For exp: -much of muchness=/it is six of one and half a dozen of the other. -not much of a scholar=not a good... I didn't make much of this grammar.= I didn't understand... You mustn't make too much of that problem.= attach importance to... It wasn't much of this dinner.= not a good... You are not much of a cinema-goer.= You seldom go... He is not much of a linguist.= not a good... I don't think much of this new teacher.= I have poor opinion of him. But: Much of what you say is true. /It's probably not idiom; you can continue: much of what you do is good. etc./ I learn this with you.I didn't know it either. Cristovam, don't believe that I knew this if you don't ask what is 'much of' I must admit I 've never seen the word 'much of' only I have a good dictionary. So when you ask something you help me to learn that.
Many thanks. Kati Svaby _________________ Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend. |
