Which answer is right? #1 (permalink) Thu Jun 14, 2012 19:49 pm   Which answer is right?

Choose the right answers

1. A. Supposed that you were in that situation, what would you do?
B. Supposed that you had been in that situation, what would do?
C. Supposing that you had been in that situation, what would you have done?
D. Supposing that you were in that situation, what would you have done?
The right answer is C, but what about A? I think it's right too.

2. A. They say that they have partially repairded the damage which is caused by the lack of technical knowledge.
B. They say that they have partially repairded the damage which caused by the lack of technical knowledge.
C. They say that they have partially repairded the damage to be caused by the lack of technical knowledge.
D. They say that they have partially repairded the damage caused by the lack of technical knowledge.

What the difference between A and D ? which one do we have to choose?

Thank you Teachers very much.

'Supposed' is wrong in the first two sentences, so A is incorrect.

Both are wrong. There is no such word as 'repaided'.
Assuming that the correct word, 'repaired', is used each time then D is correct.
You caanot use 'which is caused' as the damage has already taken place.
